NVIDIA Reports Record Revenue as AI Infrastructure Demand | CIO Times Magazine

NVIDIA has reported revenue of $96.2 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, underscoring continued strong demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. Revenue for the quarter ended July 26 rose 18% from the previous quarter and 106% from the same period a year earlier. The company reported GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins of 75%. GAAP diluted earnings per share stood at $2.46, while non-GAAP diluted earnings per share were $2.22.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said AI has reached a major turning point, with AI systems increasingly performing useful and profitable work. He added that demand for computing infrastructure is accelerating as more AI laboratories, startups and technology companies expand their operations.

Data Centre Business Drives Growth

NVIDIA’s Data Center division remained the primary engine of growth, generating $89 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 18% from the previous quarter and 117% from a year earlier. The company said its Vera Rubin platform has entered full production, with systems being deployed by major cloud providers including CoreWeave, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Nebius.

NVIDIA also introduced Vera, a CPU designed specifically for AI agents, alongside the Groq 3 LPX inference accelerator. Its Spectrum-6 networking systems are also being deployed in large-scale AI data centres worldwide.

The company further expanded its AI infrastructure portfolio with the DSX platform, which provides tools for designing and operating large-scale AI factories.

Investment and Shareholder Returns

NVIDIA returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders during the quarter through share repurchases and cash dividends. The company had about $99 billion remaining under its current share repurchase authorization at the end of the period.

NVIDIA’s next quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share is scheduled for October 1, 2026, for shareholders of record as of September 10.

Strong Outlook

Looking ahead, NVIDIA expects third-quarter revenue of approximately $108 billion, plus or minus 2%. The forecast does not include Data Center compute revenue from China.

The company expects GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins of around 74%, while operating expenses are projected at approximately $9.2 billion and $9 billion, respectively.

NVIDIA also announced partnerships with major financial institutions to develop AI-compute financing platforms that could mobilize more than $500 billion in third-party capital over time, supporting the rapid expansion of global AI infrastructure.
