WilliamsMarston, a national accounting, tax, technology, transaction, and valuation advisory firm, has acquired the NetSuite Services practice of Charted, an ERP-native accounts payable automation software provider. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens WilliamsMarston’s technology-enabled advisory capabilities by adding experienced NetSuite professionals to its Boston-based operations. Charted, also headquartered in Boston, will continue operating independently, focusing on its accounts payable automation software business. The companies will establish a strategic partnership to jointly support shared clients.

Strengthening NetSuite and Finance Services

Charted’s NetSuite Services team helps growing and middle-market businesses implement, configure, and customize NetSuite, a leading cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. Its offerings also include managed services, maintenance, training, and ongoing advisory support.

The addition complements WilliamsMarston’s existing capabilities across the office of the chief financial officer (CFO) and controller functions. It also creates opportunities to expand AI-enabled ERP solutions and strengthen the firm’s Finance as a Service (FaaS) practice.

Through FaaS, WilliamsMarston provides outsourced operational and strategic finance and accounting support to early-stage companies seeking to scale without investing heavily in internal staffing and infrastructure.

Scott Grillo, managing director of NetSuite Services at WilliamsMarston, said the acquisition would combine the team’s NetSuite expertise with the firm’s broader advisory capabilities. Having previously led Charted’s NetSuite consulting business, Grillo highlighted opportunities to support clients across financial planning and analysis, transaction advisory, taxation, and AI-enabled ERP strategy.

Supporting AI-Enabled Finance Transformation

WilliamsMarston CEO Sanjay Ramaswamy emphasized that businesses increasingly need integrated support addressing financial strategy, technology, data, security, and AI adoption. He said the expanded team would help clients connect their finance systems and operations, from initial implementation through ongoing support and transformation.

The acquisition brings together complementary expertise in technology, finance, and advisory services, enabling WilliamsMarston to support organizations at different stages of growth.

Charted Refocuses on Accounts Payable Automation

Charted founder and CEO Bernardo Enciso welcomed the transaction, expressing confidence in WilliamsMarston’s ability to support the departing team and its clients.

The move allows Charted to concentrate on its accounts payable automation software while continuing to collaborate with strategic partners. Existing customers will retain access to the same product and Charted support team, ensuring continuity as the company sharpens its focus on its core business.
