Palantir Technologies reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter revenue and earnings on Monday, raising its full-year revenue forecast as demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) and data software solutions accelerated across the US commercial market.
The company’s US commercial business surpassed US government sales for the first time, marking a significant shift in its revenue mix and highlighting growing corporate demand for enterprise AI solutions.
Revenue Growth Exceeds Expectations
Palantir reported third-quarter revenue of $2.313 billion, representing a 96% increase from the corresponding period last year. The figure comfortably exceeded Wall Street’s estimate of $2.17 billion, according to Bloomberg data. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.44, beating analyst expectations of $0.40.
Following the strong performance, the company raised its full-year revenue guidance to between $8.530 billion and $8.534 billion, significantly above analysts’ consensus estimate of $8.2 billion. It also increased its US commercial revenue target to more than $3.559 billion.
Palantir shares experienced volatility in after-hours trading following the earnings announcement.
Commercial Business Gains Momentum
The growing contribution from corporate customers represents an important milestone for Palantir, traditionally known for its work with government and defence agencies.
Its commercial growth reflects increasing interest among businesses in deploying AI tools to streamline operations, analyse data and improve decision-making. CEO Alex Karp highlighted the company’s changing market position during the earnings call, saying it had moved from being an outsider in the technology world to becoming a leading player.
AI Competition and Investor Sentiment
Palantir’s performance comes amid broader concerns about AI-driven disruption across the software industry. The company’s shares have faced pressure during the recent technology sell-off and are up approximately 2% year to date.
However, Palantir has maintained that the enterprise AI market is dividing between businesses spending heavily on AI models without achieving meaningful results and organisations investing in the underlying infrastructure needed to deploy AI effectively.
The latest results strengthen Palantir’s position in the enterprise AI market, although sustaining its rapid growth and translating demand into long-term profitability will remain key challenges for investors.
