Forward-looking CIOs require their enterprises to have advanced high-end enterprise storage infrastructure that ensures 100% availability and high reliability, fuels business-critical applications and workloads, safeguards against continuous cyberattacks, reduces CAPEX and OPEX, automates for efficiency gains, and is flexible enough to handle significant data growth.

High-end enterprise storage is a critical part of a Global Fortune 500 or a large enterprise’s data infrastructure. It needs to deliver comprehensive business and technical value, including cost savings, cyber storage resilience, power efficiency, consolidation, and ultra-fast application performance. Having evolved far beyond just being an operational necessity for IT departments, enterprise storage has become a strategic pillar of business innovation, agility, and long-term value.

Infinidat, a Lenovo company, is on the forefront of this evolution of enterprise storage. The company has gained significant momentum, expanded its market presence, and obtained valuable insights from providing high enterprise storage solutions and next-generation data protection solutions to enterprises worldwide, including 26% of the Fortune 50.

Infinidat was founded in 2011 by a team of storage industry experts focused on delivering powerful business value to customers by eliminating the compromises between performance, availability, data protection, cyber resilience, and cost for enterprise storage. Over the past 15 years, Infinidat has become an industry leader in high-end enterprise storage for Global Fortune 500 companies and large enterprises.

Infinidat has managed to accomplish it by developing a better, faster way to store and protect enterprise data, with the highest possible availability, at the lowest possible cost, unmatched real-world application and workload performance, and cyber storage resilience.

These achievements in data-centric innovation have landed Infinidat on this year’s list of “Top Data Innovators Driving the Future of Intelligent Business – 2026.”

Infinidat is being recognized for transforming high-end enterprise storage into an intelligent business-enabler. This reflects a broader shift in how enterprise technology decisions by CIOs and their IT teams are increasingly being evaluated through a lens of longer-term business outcomes, rather than solely on technical specifications.

“At Infinidat, we are devoted to enabling our Global Fortune 500, large enterprise customers, and service providers, whether cloud service providers, managed service providers or managed hosting providers, to compete more effectively with their storage infrastructure,” said Eric Herzog, CMO at Infinidat. “We empower our customers to spend less on their infrastructure, so they can focus more on innovation, growth, and competitive advantage.”

Infinidat’s global customer base covers a multitude of vertical industries, including healthcare, financial services, telecom, cloud service providers, software and technology, manufacturing, and retail. Infinidat was acquired by Lenovo in 2026.

Infinidat is an “innovation engine” with state-of-the-art R&D capabilities for enterprise storage. Infinidat is leveraging its strength to contribute to driving unified storage forward, delivering business value and modernizing data centers.

Business Value, Coupled with Technical Value

As data volumes increase exponentially, CIOs across the globe have been dealing with escalating costs and continue to be challenged by the need to balance cost and capabilities in updating their enterprise storage infrastructure.

However, as enterprises modernize their storage infrastructure and consolidate workloads, CIOs can obtain rapid payback and a compelling return on investment (ROI) with the adoption or expanded use of Infinidat’s enterprise storage solutions, while, equally important, ensuring real-world application and workload performance, 100% availability, scalability, and strong cyber resilience.

Infinidat has quantified the financial benefits that enterprise customers gain with a strong ROI and very fast payback on the purchase of Infinidat’s InfiniBox platform. This independent validation, from one of the leading IT analyst firms in the world, affirms the business value, as well as technical value, that Infinidat provides through enterprise storage. The details on how Infinidat does this, along with quotes from some of Infinidat’s Global Fortune 500 and large enterprise customers, are outlined in the IDC White Paper “The Business Value of Infinidat InfiniBox Storage.”

The InfiniBox G4 platform delivers a payback in an unprecedented 8.7 months for enterprise storage with a 3-year ROI of 140%. This is based on extensive customer interviews and analysis of large enterprises and Global Fortune 500 companies with average annual revenues of $49.6 billion.

“Infinidat is fundamentally changing the economics of enterprise storage, creating significant business value for organizations with large capacity storage needs,” said Herzog, who has been in the enterprise storage industry for more than four decades. “For example, one of our Fortune 500 customers consolidated from 288 floor tiles of a competitor’s all-flash array to only 61 floor tiles of our InfiniBox SSA all-flash platform, saving $61 million in CAPEX and OPEX in their first few years of deployment. A CIO can take that to the bank and be a legitimate hero in the boardroom.”

Infinidat’s customers achieve financial benefits worth an annual average of $7.5 million per enterprise ($199k per petabyte), with over 50% more efficiency in IT storage operations and approximately $9.2 million in additional gross revenue per year attributed to their use of InfiniBox solutions.

“Infinidat’s InfiniBox enterprise storage solution pays for itself,” he stated.

The interviewed enterprises have, on average, over 4,000 IT staff and manage 85 petabytes of data. Enterprise customers in the study included customers from financial services, education, technology, and telecommunications. IDC applied a specialized business value methodology to determine the business value of infrastructure spending.

“For enterprise storage infrastructure, it’s critical to have capabilities to cost-effectively deliver high performance, be able to scale capacity to 10s of petabytes, consolidate workloads, simplify storage management, provide extensive cyber storage security, and ensure reliability and availability for business-critical applications and operations,” said Herzog.

Feedback from large enterprises and Global Fortune 500 customers has confirmed it. As reported in the IDC White Paper, an enterprise customer said, “We chose Infinidat because it is extremely simple to use and very competitively priced. It gave us an easy way to provision storage without managing disk-related complexity while still delivering strong performance across all the InfiniBox models we run in our datacenter. Over the years, Infinidat has become our primary storage solution. We continue to appreciate their excellent support. They are more responsive and easier to reach than other vendors we work with.”

InfiniBox allows customers to expand usable capacity at a lower cost and reduce expenses related to systems, licensing, and data center overhead, yet without compromising performance, because of the high-density architecture and advanced data reduction capabilities of Infinidat’s platform. InfiniBox increases an enterprise’s operational agility for IT teams, eliminates bottlenecks, and improves application responsiveness, in support of a wide range of workloads, including virtualization, databases, and customer-facing applications.

Building Trust with Cyber Storage Resilience

Cybercrime is estimated to cost enterprises more than $7 trillion in 2026, and enterprises are suffering more than 2,000 cyberattacks per week this year. According to PwC’s digital trust research, only 6% of executive business and tech leaders feel prepared for a cyberattack.

AI is reshaping ransomware and malware. Threat actors use purpose-built, “uncensored” AI models purchased on the dark web to write polymorphic malware and phishing scripts without safety guardrails. Scammers use synthetic video and audio cloning tools to bypass speaker-based authentication and impersonate corporate executives or loved ones in real-time.

Attackers are using AI to execute speedier attacks. A report by Booz Allen Hamilton shows that cybercriminals are moving from initial access to broader system compromise in less than 30 minutes, on average — sometimes in seconds.

AI bots can scan thousands of network systems for security misconfigurations and summarize public social media profiles in seconds to build highly persuasive, hyper-targeted scams. Certain advanced malware families use connected AI models to generate malicious functions and obfuscate code on demand, helping them evade traditional antivirus software.

“The pressure on CIOs and their IT teams to address and mitigate the impact of these AI-powered cyberattacks is continually mounting,” said Herzog, who has recorded webinars on Infinidat’s website (www.infinidat.com) regarding these evolving cyber threats.

In a recent PWC survey of enterprise CEOs on what are the biggest risks to their companies, the CEOs cited cyber risk as the #1 risk to their companies. Cyber storage resilience directly addresses the concerns of CEOs, elevating enterprise storage to a C-level discussion.

Enterprise leaders continue to search for solutions that dramatically raise the bar in providing full cyber storage protection with confidence. Next-generation data protection, which enables cyber storage resilience, expands the purview of what is protected and how it is protected within an enterprise data infrastructure. It adds preemptive and predictive capabilities that help mitigate the effects of massive cyberattacks. Next-generation data protection provides a cyber-focused, recovery-first methodology.

“Recovery-first” means prioritizing how data will be recovered, first and foremost. What is the impact to the business? This is what should help define the strategy.

Most people want it back immediately, but it’s difficult to do if you are not proactively addressing what this means. This is why enterprises are looking to deploy immutable snapshots, cyber detection, and automated cyber protection. The latter seamlessly integrates cyber storage resilience into security operation centers and data center-wide cyber security applications. At the first signal of a cyberattack, an immutable snapshot of data is taken automatically to help reduce the threat window.

Enterprises need proactive strategies, seamless integration across IT domains, and the most advanced, automated technologies to stay ahead of cyber threats. Next-generation data protection includes the traditional aspects of data protection, such as being able to handle backup repositories and being able to snapshot and replicate data. But the next generation of data protection includes cyber storage resilience and guaranteed ultra-rapid cyber recovery. Being proactive to optimize for restoration of data makes it simpler on the backend.

Infinidat offers one of the most comprehensive, integrated and proven portfolios of next-generation data protection solutions in the industry – backed by guarantees, unlike the competition.

When the cyberattack hits – and it’s not if an attack will happen, but when and how often – an enterprise IT team needs a comprehensive but easy-to-use cyber toolset, Infinidat’s InfiniSafe software cyber suite, to kick-start the data recovery process.

“Because we are concerned about cyber threats, we use Infinidat. This is an excellent solution to improve the cyber resilience of our storage,” a CTO in the Transportation industry wrote on the Gartner Peer Insights website.

In the user interface, the point in time is selected to which the IT team wants to recover. With Infinidat, you can even pull out your stopwatch and time the recovery. You are able to measure how long it takes to conduct the recovery of a known good copy of data. Recovery of a known good copy of data in the aftermath of a cyberattack, such as ransomware or malware, must be extremely fast – in other words, virtually instantaneous.

Infinidat provides a guaranteed SLA of the Recovery Time Objective (RTO). On the InfiniBox family of enterprise primary storage solutions, the guarantee is a recovery time of one minute or less. This one-minute SLA is guaranteed regardless of the size of your dataset—whether it’s hundreds of terabytes or dozens of petabytes.

These building blocks work together seamlessly as a cyber resilience stack to deliver next-generation data protection. It includes backup, but next-gen data protection is much more than just backup. An enterprise should still do regular backups, but backup datasets are a target for cybercriminals as well. Next-gen data protection is an improvement over conventional backup because it covers all the bases, and it fills the gaps that backup alone doesn’t.

InfiniSafe Cyber Detection, for example, is an advanced AI-driven add-on module for Infinidat storage solutions that deep-scans data to identify ransomware and malware with up to 99.99% accuracy. By analyzing the full content of files, databases and virtual machines (VMs), it helps security teams quickly pinpoint compromised assets and identify the last known good copies for rapid recovery.

“Touching both primary storage and secondary storage, all our next-gen data protection capabilities are integrated together to make Infinidat a leader in cyber storage resilience and cyber recovery. It’s unprecedented how we guarantee cyber recovery and guarantee the near-instantaneous time it takes to accomplish it. This is one of the reasons Global Fortune 500 companies and large enterprises trust Infinidat. Enterprises and service providers need to incorporate cyber storage resilience into their comprehensive corporate cybersecurity strategies,” said Herzog.

Prioritizing Customer Success

One of the most notable, recent accomplishments was Infinidat being named a Gartner® Peer Insights™ Customers’ Choice in the Gartner Peer Insights “Voice of the Customer”: Primary Storage Platforms. This was the seventh time that Infinidat has been recognized as a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice award winner, either as a regional segment or overall segment for enterprise storage.

The average rating for Infinidat on the Gartner Peer Insights site is 4.9 (out of 5 possible stars) overall, spanning hundreds of reviews and ratings from Global Fortune 500 and large enterprise customers across many different industries.

The strength of the value that Infinidat delivers is so strong that one enterprise customer noted: “Infinidat’s performance and reliability set them apart from the competition significantly. Of all the vendors we deal with, Infinidat is the best for support, supporting our strategic direction, and responding to our needs. The storage is the most performant and the most stable of any I’ve experienced in 30 years of industry experience.”

Another global enterprise noted publicly on the Gartner Peer Insights website, “My experience with this product is excellent. Starting with a good price and then installing and migrating from the old system to this system, I got excellent system performance, beyond my expectations even, and, of course, zero faults for over 10 years, and because we are concerned about cyber threats, we use InfiniSafe. This is an excellent solution to improve the cyber resilience of our storage.”

Another enterprise customer, who works in the banking industry, also gave Infinidat a 5-star rating for Overall User Rating, citing the following: “Price per TB (especially with performance also considered) is excellent. Our technical support team is knowledgeable and always willing to help. Write throughput is much better than some other even all flash arrays. Management is relatively simple, especially when compared to other vendors’ high-performance arrays.”

In a nutshell, the “Infinidat experience” for customers, whether Global Fortune 500, large enterprises or service providers, is comprised of state-of-the-art, high-performance enterprise storage platforms, advanced software capabilities, a triple redundant architecture, comprehensive enterprise cyber storage resilience and recovery, flexible consumption models, and industry-leading white glove service. All of these attributes are reflected in the reviews of Infinidat on the Gartner Peer Insights site.

Herzog stated, “Infinidat continually evolves and expands our solutions aligned with changing customer requirements, and we are proving to be more flexible, more energy-efficient, more high performance, more cyber resilient, and more cost-effective than other storage vendors. We are laser-focused on customer satisfaction, and we work harder than the competition to earn our customers’ trust – and trust is everything in the high-end enterprise market.”

World-class Technologies for Enterprise Storage

The ecosystem of customers that Infinidat has around the world has formed a community of users who are passionate about InfiniBox G4 solutions − both the InfiniBox SSA all-flash models and the InfiniBox hybrid array configurations. A user posted on the Gartner Peer Insights site: “Due to the ease of administration and its efficiency, our company loves the InfiniBox.”

The evolution of the InfiniBox G4 family has successfully made high-end enterprise storage more accessible to a broader range of enterprises, extending the powerful capabilities of the award-winning InfiniBox G4 to upgrade data infrastructures without any disruption.

TechTarget named Infinidat’s InfiniBox SSA G4 all-flash system one of the “Best Enterprise Storage Arrays of the Year” last year. It was the third year in a row that the InfiniBox SSA has been recognized by TechTarget. The G4 version, which was launched in 2024, represents a breakthrough in enterprise storage performance, combined with built-in cyber storage resilience capabilities, increased power efficiency, and 100% availability.

The InfiniBox G4 platform also emerged in 2025 as a leading solution as a cyber secure backup target for enterprises. It has revolutionized how fast an enterprise can recover from a cyberattack or other disaster. To provide an example of independent validation of this claim, leading storage analyst firm DCIG named the G4 family as one of the TOP 5 Cybersecure Sub-10PB NAS Solutions in the world for enterprises.

On September 30, 2025, Infinidat expanded the InfiniBox G4 family with a series of extensive and powerful enhancements and a new smaller form-factor model: the InfiniBox SSA G4 F24 all-flash family, which delivers high-end storage in a reduced footprint with superior power-efficiency and a greener IT solution − at an unprecedented lower entry price point for a high-end enterprise storage solution.

InfuzeOS utilizes Neural Cache deep learning algorithms for ultra-fast real-world application performance, cyber storage resilience with InfiniSafe, and comprehensive InfiniVerse AIOps tools to significantly simplify storage administration.

AI in the Data Infrastructure

Artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) in enterprise storage is a key aspect to simplifying IT operations, reducing administrative overhead, and adding a predictive layer onto the data storage infrastructure. Enterprises benefit greatly from the capabilities that come with AIOps: advanced predictive analytics, early issue detection, and proactive support, which are integral to enabling the storage-as-a-service experience.

AIOps can effectively identify actual and potential issues before they cause widespread problems, automate troubleshooting and fixes, and deliver more effective and more efficient support

AIOps is an approach that combines automation with analytics and AI. It can be AI/ML (machine learning), or better yet, AI/DL (deep learning), on a multi-layered technology platform. What helps an enterprise is technology enhancing enterprise-grade data storage with built-in intelligence that optimizes application environments and performance over time, delivering a zero-touch, “set-it-and-forget-it” experience.

Infinidat offers its AIOps capabilities through its InfiniOps technologies framework, splitting its operations into two core environments: “Inside-the-Box” autonomous automation and “Outside-the-Box” cloud-driven management. The system relies on its proprietary Neural Cache to monitor data access patterns in real-time. Machine learning layout algorithms automatically predict which data will be needed next, hiding backend media latencies and maintaining performance automatically without human intervention.

For broad infrastructure oversight, Infinidat offers InfiniVerse, a centralized SaaS-based cloud control plane. It aggregates granular, end-to-end storage telemetry from across a company’s full global estate to spot capacity bottleneck risks ahead of time. As an early detection warning system, it uses deep data insights to flag localized network errors or physical hardware anomalies before they can cause downtime.

Power Efficiency

The level of power-efficiency also contributes to the overall value of the data infrastructure. When a CIO and an IT team adopt enterprise storage solutions that reduce energy usage, power-efficiency saves money and frees up resources to be spent on other strategic initiatives, such as an AI data center.

By upgrading to a next-generation enterprise storage platform, such as Infinidat’s InfiniBox, a CIO can transfer the power that a legacy storage system was using to the area where the enterprise needs it most, such as AI, creating new business value from what AI will deliver to augment the business and empower the organization to compete in a changing world. Connecting to an existing global AI-enabled data infrastructure is a business-enabler, and enterprise storage is a critical part of unlocking its full potential.

Infinidat addresses data center energy constraints through its “E² Factor” construct, a strategy that links economic savings directly with environmental sustainability. The company designs its high-capacity storage systems to deliver up to 6.9x better power efficiency (watts per usable TB) than traditional competing enterprise storage systems.

Sustaining Confidence and Market Leadership

Native support for block, file, and object storage protocols comes standard in each InfiniBox system. This is important for CIOs who want a multi-dimensional solution for different applications and different workloads. Infinidat has been known for years for block and file storage, but last year it expanded with native S3 object storage.

GigaOm, a leading IT analyst firm, has named Infinidat a “Leader” and a “Fast Mover” in GigaOm’s 2026 Radar for Object Storage. GigaOm analysts cited the InfiniBox as “a consolidated platform designed to eliminate storage silos. By integrating native S3 object storage alongside Fibre Channel and NFS protocols, Infinidat targets large enterprises and service providers seeking to centralize diverse workloads on a unified infrastructure.”

“The continued recognition of Infinidat as a leader and innovator in enterprise storage is a testament to the power of the next-generation InfiniBox G4 family of all-flash and hybrid storage solutions,” said Infinidat’s CMO.

GigaOm’s analysts wrote in the report: “The entire portfolio, including InfiniBox and the all-flash InfiniBox SSA, runs on the unified InfuzeOS. This architecture delivers native, concurrent block, file, and S3-compatible object storage services from a single platform without the use of external gateways. By avoiding translation layers, Infinidat provides a consistent management experience and optimizes performance across all supported protocols.”

Integration with Technology Partners

Infinidat’s partnerships, integrations, and testing enable customers to consolidate entire rows of legacy enterprise storage onto a single InfiniBox enterprise storage system, while achieving unmatched speed and reliability for backup workloads. For on-premises storage, Infinidat offers extensive integration with VMware, used by more than two-thirds of its clients, and the company supports cloud-native platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and OpenStack.

The InfiniBox solution has been successfully tested to work with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. This technical validation opens new possibilities for enterprise customers and channel partners to deploy, migrate, and manage new and existing VM workloads and virtualized applications using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

This milestone builds on the success that Infinidat has had with the certified InfiniBox Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver for petabyte-scale Kubernetes deployments of Red Hat OpenShift in hybrid and multi-cloud environments for both high-performance enterprise primary storage and data protection/backup needs.

Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization represents a unified approach to enable IT organizations to bring standard VM-based workloads to Kubernetes and container deployments, helping eliminate the workflow and development silos that typically exist between traditional and cloud-native application stacks.

Infinidat expanded its strong, long-term relationship with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open-source solutions, by leveraging the Infinidat team’s extensive experience in virtualization to modernize data infrastructures.

In the backup realm, Infinidat’s solutions integrate with all major data protection platforms. For example, Infinidat’s partnership with Veeam led to the development of a universal storage API, and Infinidat’s deep integrations with Commvault form the foundation of the company’s earliest data protection partnerships. The company also has successful relationships with Zerto, Cohesity (Veritas), and Rubrik, among others.

Looking to the Future

Cyber storage resilience is poised to become a standardized requirement for all enterprise storage infrastructures. At the speed that AI-driven cyberattacks are evolving, the need for cyber storage resilience will only skyrocket in the years ahead. Making a storage infrastructure cyber secure with next-generation data protection capabilities will be a priority – even mandated by CIOs and boards of directors. Infinidat is well-positioned to be a leader in this market shift.

Enterprise storage will also continue to evolve to become more efficient – cost-efficient, space-efficient, and power-efficient. The move to an automated “set it and forget it” approach to enterprise storage will become pervasive in the enterprise market. Self-healing storage platforms with autonomous automation, high efficiencies, AIOps capabilities, and easy integrations with complementary systems will be in demand. Infinidat will benefit from this trend for years to come.

“Infinidat has redefined high-end enterprise storage, delivering exceptional performance, 100% availability, cyber storage resilience, automation, efficiency, and white glove service. I envision a future of driving continued growth and enhancing the differentiation and competitive advantages we offer to enterprises,” said Herzog.

Larger storage capacities in smaller-form factors, faster application performance without compromise, 100% availability, flexible consumption models (CAPEX or OPEX, or a mix of both), increased power efficiency, cyber storage resilience, and an ecosystem of integrations (Red Hat, VMware, Veeam, Commvault, and many more) – all of these will be characteristics of the enterprise storage infrastructure of the future.

“Cost-effectiveness, business continuity, overall efficiency, integration and optimization determine how much business value a CIO can decode and capture from enterprise storage now and in the future,” concluded Herzog. “After a CIO comes online with Infinidat to rethink how their enterprise approaches storage, they won’t have to think about storage again for years. It will be unified, intelligent storage. But to truly set it and forget it, a CIO needs to set it right from the start with a new playbook for enterprise storage. Infinidat is the new starting point for CIOs.”
